Myspace IM is now up and running


MySpace has soft-launched its desktop instant message client.

It's a really simple, clean-looking implementation that feels very solid and exposes the right level of functionality up front.

Tom is the only default contact that you have when you first install the client. But, There is a prominent "Add your friends to IM" link on the client that takes you to a page that lets you add your MySpace friends to IM with one click.

Alleged MySpace hackers arrested

The operators of a site that allowed MySpace.com users to track their visitors have been charged with trying to extort $150,000 from the service.

Though the two site owners/operators were arrested, they claim they were trying to "land a job with Myspace.com", and that Myspace.com "improperly lured" the two men with the prospect of a consulting contract.

Time to Pay if you wanna play!!

Myspace has begun to rollout the subscription phase of their business model, and you thought it was just slow because it sucked! Ha! service, dubbed MySpace Plus, will be offered to the site's 79 million unique users at an introductory cost of $9.95 a month. Subscribers to the service will enjoy faster page loading, access to unique content, and ad-free surfing for as long as they continue to pay the additional fee.

They used to call that "Bait and Switch" back in the day.... Didnt they?

Band's Gig Canceled Due to MySpace Comments

MADISON -- Some Madison teens say a band is not being allowed to perform due to vulgar messages posted on MySpace.com.

The band called These Green Eyes has not been allowed to play at two separate venues in Madison.

One of the places that cancelled a gig -- The Arts Barn -- is meeting Tuesday to discuss its policy.
