Some Artists have more songs on Myspace?

Recently I received a question from a reader asking: There are Artists on Myspace "that can upgrade to more than 4 songs on their myspace music page, do you have any idea how". While I didnt have a direct answer, I thought we should open this up for discussion, and take a look deeper.

As it turns out, there are some Artists with more than the standard 4 songs available on their Myspace Music profile's standalone player. I couldnt however locate any information on Myspace.com regarding upgrading the number of songs you, as an Artist, can have on your profile.

Infact, the Official MySpace.com FAQ on this is pretty weak:

How do I add a song from a Myspace artist to my profile? How do I remove it?
Adding a song is easy. Visit Myspace Music (http://music.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=music) and find a song you want to add. If the artist has given permission to share the music, you'll see an "Add" link next to the song. Click "Add" and the song will play on your profile! Only one song can be added to your profile at one time.

If you want to change songs, simply find another song and click "Add."

To remove the song, go to Home >> Edit Profile >> Profile Songs and click "Delete."

To give you an example of a profile with more than the standard 4, lets take a look at P. Diddy's Myspace page:
myspace diddy music

You will see this profile's standalone player has a scroll bar, which actually has 6 songs listed on P. Diddy's profile. Two more than the average music profile.

Silversteins standalone player, above, shows the normal 4 songs. No scrollbar....

Does anyone know why some are allowed more songs?
