Flood of Deleted Users?

Whats the deal with all the deleted myspace profiles lately? I understand its mainly spam messages and such, but whats going on that all the sudden there's such a flood of these? Does myspace need to add another layer of security to posting messages and comments?

    Myspace deleted our band profile with over 150,000 plays and # 3 on the independent charts. All of our contacts were lost. Anyone been able to sue or have profiles reinstated?
